OT, but looking ahead to the GOP convention and wanting to give time for sign prep in case anyone is going....
I think it would be deliciously ironic to have lots and lots of signs THANKING the GOP for their prominent placement of and support for gays and lesbians.

God Damn Damnocrats did this to themselves when the allowed the Republicans to get rid of the Fairness Doctrine in Broadcasting. Even worse, they won't even talk about bringing it back. They are either too stupid or too cowardly to do anything right or complicit with the right wing agenda. Vote for Ralph Nader or Cynthia McKinney the real patriotic, loyal Americans.

There's something fishy about McCain's choice for favorite music being ABBA too. I think he claims that hearing a certain song of theirs over and over in his mind WHILE HE WAS A POW helped him survive. The only problem is that it's an anachronism. The song is from later when he was out of prison. Does anyone know the details?
CBS is all in for the GOP. Katie Couric not only neglected to challenge McCain on false charges he made the other against Barak, she looked as if she wanted to service him on TV.

Crisis management theory does not accept change as a viable option. CBS and the other networks are in turmoil because Obama represents a change so profound that the existing network business model will collapse. The smarter ones among the media administrators recognize what's happening and follow the management theory to prevent change.
The stakes are vast because in the event of an Obama victory, representational government and an integrated government face will be the order of the day. The media are not just unready for that, they haven't got a personnel pool that can reflect the emerging face of government. Won't that be a fun crisis?

The local affiliates do it, too--at least WBZ does, here in Boston. There's a very skeptical slant to all their Obama coverage, and an unquestioning acceptance in all their McCain coverage. It's very noticeable.

Her father may be have been a vet but he also was a convicted felon with Mob ties, directly or indirectly. He took the fall and ended up with a beer distributorship for his time in the pokey. Look it up.
