How much did the Alaska Permanent Fund pay Sarah Palin and her family over the last two decades? Any wonder why she's pimping for more oil drilling rather than insisting that the oil industry drill in the 90% of public lands that we have already leased to them that are sitting idle?

Did they cook up the price hikes?
Did they plan the push for drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Reserve when they could drill elsewhere in Alaska, or they could already drill in federal lands that were leased to the oil companies all over the U.S.

Isn't it ironic that the repugs are cancelling the first day of their convention; only meeting for 2-3 hours (this from MSNBC). And Bush not appearing, Cheney not appearing (heard he is going to Georgia), Laura has cancelled her appearance, and several congressmen and governors have opted out of appearing. Too busy with re-election campaigns. Also what make hurricane Gustav so much different from Katrina? They didn't seem to get this wound up about Katrina. Oh but of course that wasn't an election year. Do they actually think we are all that stupid????

Alaskan Newspapers are saying she is not qualified to be VP. Her lack of knowledge about the VP's office, shows she is way over her little head, and yet, McCain, who boasts about experience, showed no good judgment when he picked this lightweight, who cut property taxes for her little town. This is a big warning light for this nation, which I regret to say, has a large number of imbeciles, who believe the right wingers in this country, and are naive enough to vote for McCain, who has very foolishly put this country at peril, by giving them an unqualified, naive, inexperienced woman, a heartbeat away from the presidency. I have traveled to many countries, Asia, Africa, Europe, and lived next to many other nations as well. Does that qualify me to be a VP too?
p.s. I also know more than Palin about the Iraq war, and can find it on the map.

Well I think it is ironic that the Repub's said they stole the Dem's thunder by having the attention focused on Palin announcement and now they are in the middle of a big thunder. teeeeeeeeee heeeeeee However, everything they do is a political move for their advantage. I am sick of Palin already sporting that she will be the woman to break the glass ceiling hoping to steal Sen. Clintons voters. NO WAY.

I want to know why McCain is involved in this at all. It's the current President's job to be going to the Gulf Coast, not the candidate to succeed him. If McCain wants to alter the convention schedule that's appropriate but he's assuming the mantel of the presidency and Democrats should call him on it. If Obama did anything like what McCain's doing the Republicans would rip him apart.
The Democrats have to learn to call McCain on such blatant political pandering if they don't want to look like wimps. Their followers (including me) deserve it. We cannot afford to lose another election.
