AMERICAblog: Why is ABC so fixated on John Edwards' affair but not John McCain's own adultery?

  • dad · 1 year ago
    umm.
they didn't report JE untill he walked up and told them about it.
    too much work.

Here's a better question: Why do democrats always pick skank as mistresses?
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
You don't think Ms Cindy is a skank?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
I can't imagine what it would take to make a beer distributoress with over a hundred million dollars into a skank.
  • rja4429 · 1 year ago
Does skank have a price tag? Expensive whore, cheap whore, freebies --what's the difference?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
There are very desirable women who are not especially physically beautiful. And, there are beautiful women who are not necessarily desirable. If you don't know "skank" when you see it or meet it or talk to it? Then I can't help you understand...
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Oh, maybe I can: Madonna is skank...
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
It's simply a matter of "description". To me, a skank is a home wrecker. That
would fit the description of Cindy McCain.

Thank goodness Michelle Obama is without fault. Wouldn't you agree?
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
It's you call butt-boy...Er ahhh. sorry about that. You drew first blood and asked why
Democrates always choose skanks for wives. I'm simply implying the same.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
    I said "mistresses", wolfman. There's a diff...
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
Nothing has changed! You actually think the Republicans don't have the same
    shortcomings?

why do repugnicans always have anonymous sex in men's rooms?

  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
Right wing is correct! I'm amazed at how slanted the reporting has become. Where is Chris Matthews at these days. I would at least expect a gent of his caliber to make the distinction and raise a few eyebrows on his show.

Also: I'm getting a little short with the Huffington Post for drilling this Edward's thing in the ground. She should be concentrating on John McCain's lies and shortcomings as well. The bottom line, is that the Hunffington post is all about the "mighty" green dollar when it gets right down to it.

So, ABC thinks it's relevant that John Edwards MAY have lied about committing adultery, but ABC doesn't think it's relevant that John McCain DID LIE about committing adultery and possibly bigamy.

Do you need any more proof as to what a rightwing, Republican propaganda tool the media has become?

    John, I fixed your typo.

Now can we please call them what they are -- propagandists.

Why is ABC so fixated on John Edwards' affair but not John McCain's own adultery?

because the 'liberal meadea' is anything but ??
  • Bobby · 1 year ago
I've had enough of this garbage. I am sending e-mailed to my local ABC afffiliate in Rhode Island, and to the network headquarters.

We shouldn't sit still for this!
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
    John,
I think you should push the issue, but your sentence should be worded:
"Why is ABC so fixated on John Edwards' affair but not John McCain's first adulterist affair?"

Not the bold on the word first. :) :)

  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
good catch... in fact, they're using gossip about Iseman to deflect attention from his FIRST affair.

the only response you get from the media is... "oh, he denied he ever had an affair with Iseman."... when you were actually referring to his affair with CINDY.

I've also noticed last week that Charlie Gibson on the evening news had quite a harsh tone when speaking about Obama last week. He was talking to a reporter and made some sort of damning comment that I found quite out of bounds for an evening anchor.

why is it that for "reporters" in the MSM (quotes intentional), HISTORY is something that took place five months ago.

if they examined trickle-down economics... and the fact that it DIDN'T WORK... maybe they'd stop insisting that we need to keep implementing those ideals?

history repeats itself with the aid of idiots.

    because, IOKIYAR.

oh, and at least he's not having homosex in public restrooms... they'll let the rest of your private life slide, if you're a repugnican.

Bingo. John A, that was a silly question. Is this your first day at the rodeo? The GOP is filled with serial adulterers, molesters, and all around creeps, and they're heroes -- from St. Ronald Raygun on down. But, if a Democrat steps outside the lines, it's a constitutional crisis.

interesting... I went to ABC... found the article about Edwards... went to the comments and posted two separate comments, and they never showed up.

why does the MSM feel it needs to protect the American public from itself?

I simply pointed out that Edwards isn't in the running anymore... and pointed out that mccain is an adulterer AND a bigamist... along with the dates of when his divorce was finalized and his marriage license was granted.

you'd think that'd be a huge story... but they won't post my comments.

    interesting... scary, but interesting.

The avalance of non-stop noooz and pundit minutia in this incremental 1000-day campaign...reaching new absurd heights with the Cokie Roberts "exotic" vacation remark...telegraphs both corporate fear of a progressive regulatory approach and their lifesaving need for revenues generated by the elimination of F.I.C.A. through Social Security privatization along with further deregulation of the federal communications rules .

Because Edwards is a Democrat and McCain is a Republican.

    Thanks for asking.

And, John, what about David Vitter? I don't remember any such carrying on when he was exposed for having sex (with a diaper fetish, no less) with hookers in New Orleans and Washington DC. Fox and CNN are vilifying Edwards today (and, why, he's not running for anything) but they barely reported on Vitter. When Vitter returned to work he received a standing ovation by his equally twisted Republican colleagues on the floor of the US Senate. I wish someone being interviewed about Edwards would bring this up and then tell the "journalist" that it is none of their f**king business and that it is time to move on to something that actually affects the American people (or, is it sheeple?).

Fox News is also having a blast slingling the Edwards affair! It's their live question at

    americastalking@foxnews.com

The question asked is " Do you think the John Edwards affair will affect the Democratic Party? " Wouldn't it be fun to see them buried with questions as to why McCain can actually be running for the Presidency with his illicit past, and Edward's affair could bring down the Democratic Party!
  • mschafer13 · 1 year ago
Ding Ding! That's the $60,000 question in all of this. Notice how McCain has been surprisingly quiet on this whole debacle? You'd think this would be a prime opportunity for him to remind voters how the Republicans are so much more 'moral', etc etc. Not quite; if he mentions it, he opens himself up to the same criticisms, and that is the one thing he cannot afford right now..

Funny how the news media goes out of its way not to mention that John McCain't was boinking his blond millionairess zombie girlfriend while still married to his crippled, long-suffering first wife. The Edwards scandal is bad news for McCain's campaign; believe me, they can't wait for it to blow over because the longer it's in the news, the more probable it is that someone is going to talk about Saint Johnny Mac and his wandering dick.
  • KansasModerate · 1 year ago
I intensely dislike John McCain -- have felt that way for years -- and hope Barack Obama buries him in a landslide come November. But I also believe in being fair.

    Thereis a difference, John.

John Edwards apparently had his affair, and lied about it for months, AFTER setting his high moral tone. And there's no evidence that he and his wife Elizabeth intend to end their marriage.

John McCain had his affair BEFORE entering politics and setting a high moral tone. Plus, his first marriage was clearly on the rocks and they were all but separated. It is not unusual for marriages to fall apart when a spouse is absent a long time. It happens in the military all the time even in situations of 12-15 month deployments.

In another post, mention is made that McCain's adultery may have violated a military code of conduct. America's military generally reflects society as a whole and if every person committing adultery is discharged, the military will be in big trouble. As would be any civilian profession held to that standard.

Now all we have to do is hope that the 60 to 80 % of Americans that want Bush out, an end to our troops in Iraq, and an America less like it is now......to stand up and open their eyes, turn FOX off and vote for someone other than John McCain.
