John McCain = Barry Goldwater of the 21st century~!!!!
This is the most important "negative but true" message all progressive persons can send out inorder to defeat McCain and his legions of mindless haters.
Repeat: John McCain = Barry Goldwater of the 21st century~!!!!

Hate to tell you that according to a close family member of Goldwater he couldn't stand McCain. He supported gays because he had a grandson or daughter that is gay. Goldwater was not an extreme right wing nut.. Not all republicans are rightwing nuts.

Georgia's president has learned a hard lesson with the expense of the innocents who died and are suffering from their president listening to McCain, Rove, Cheny, etc..........
I hope what I am hearing is not true, but I don't put it past these people. In brief, I pray for a Obama and Dems victory in November!

But what about......
"The Logan Act, originally enacted in 1799 and amended in 1994, prohibits unauthorized U.S. citizens from interfering in relations between the United States and foreign governments."

Thomas Jefferson and John Adams went and tried to negotiate with the Islamic terrorists in 1786 but it was legal and constitutional. Obviously the repugs don't play that game.

The answer is: He's sending a SWAT team.
The question is: How has John McCain shown himself to be a presumptuous, arrogant douchebag?
I'll take "Slimy Republican Moves" for $500, Alex.

McCain responses to the Russian-Georgia conflict gets more troubling when you take a close look at why he taking such and interest in the country of Georgia. Randy Scheunemann, McCain Foreign advisor is a paid lobbyist by the government of Georgia to lobby for the country of Georgia to get favors or special considerations from the White House and Congress. McCain actions where not originated by McCain. He is following Randy Scheunemann advice. Randy Scheunemann is not looking out for what is best for America; like Phil Gramm he is looking out for his own financial interests.
It is disturbing enough that McCain would have advisors like Phil Graham and Randy Scheunemann, who only care about making their on pockets as well as their rich associates’ pockets fatter but to know that McCain lacks the intelligence and judgment to know what advice he should reject and accept is down right scary.
McCain is showing time after time why he ranked third from the bottom in his Naval Academy graduating class time. McCain has become the puppet and Gramm, Scheunemann and others like him are the ventriloquists. We already have had 8 years of a dummy saying what his corporate sponsored ventriloquists want said and doing what they want done because he lacked the intellect to have good ideas of their own.
What is down right frightening is Obama has not jumped on MCain statement "We are all Georgians" and now he is sending his own Secretary of State. There should be prime time commercials showing all of McCain's bad choices. I am not suggesting Obama should stoop to the depths that McCain has done like out right lying but Obama and his campaign should at least use the truth against McCain. The fact is McCain accused Obama of acting like he was the President and then McCain speaks for the entire nation and send his representatives to Georgia because his lobbyist advisor tells him to, when even George Bush had enough sense not to take sides. The Obama people should be on this like white on rice. Instead the Obama campaign is following in the same footsteps as John Kerry.
My opinion of the Clintons is they are no better than Bush or Cheney. In 1992 I believe they had genuine values and morals but they have been corrupted by power. Bill Clinton is the only Democratic Presidential nominee that has had the intestinal fortitude to trade punches with the Republicans. Bill Clinton was a master at using surrogates. That is one of the main reasons he got elected. When Obama gets a good surrogate (General Wesley Clark) to take on McCain, he denounces him. If Obama looses this election it will not be because he is African American, it will be because he was too timid and weak.

EconProf,
Interesting summary. Couple of things:
"corporate sponsored ventriloquists"
this is the puppet show ive been talking about... The oiligarchical banking system controls these Corpratist, the corpratist control the politicians. So now what do we do?
"My opinion of the Clintons is they are no better than Bush or Cheney. "
Something happened to the Clintons, something drastic. They have so reversed course, whether it was intentional or "by force". They have clearly left the reservation, so to speak.
"If Obama looses this election it will not be because he is African American, it will be because he was too timid and weak."
I concur.

What happened to the Clintons can be summed up by the famous quote of British historian Lord Acton, "Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely." This is why the two term limit of the Presidency should never be rescinded.

How bloody presumptuous!!! These SOBs were making a big deal about Obama going to Germany and giving a speech, saying he was acting Presidential, and now look what that old fool has done? I hope the Democrats raise a stink about this presumptuous behavior. Who does he think he is? President McCain? He is trying to show that he has experience, but in reality, only an inexperienced leader, with poor judgment, would have sent our troops to attack a sovereign nation like Iraq, for no damn reason.
Do I hear silence from the Obama camp about this?

The Obama campaign needs to make hay out of these actions. There are two lines of attack:
1. Highlight the angry response by Bush and his minions attacking Pelosi and several others for going overseas and talking to foreign leaders and thus interfering in policy.
2. Note the dangers of a candidate interfering with a sitting president during a time of crisis. Use Reagan as the example. Remember, we have a wonderful tape of Reagan confessing that his people had been involved in a arms for hostage exchange with Iran. HERE IS THE POINT, THE HOSTAGES WERE RELEASED WITHIN HOURS OF HIS BEING SWORN IN. THUS, REAGAN 'S PEOPLE HAD NEGOTIATED EITHER DURING THE CAMPAIGN OR PRIOR TO HIS TAKING OFFICE THEREBY UNDERCUTTING A SITTING PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
3. Make the point that we have a candidate who is behind in the polls sending a team to a foreign country involved in war. Does this show good judgment? He can undercut the current president and he can also create problems for a President Obama should McCain lose. Add to it the foreign influence of the lobbyist for McCain now being sent as part of the SWAT team and you have a real good/accurate attack ad.

I'm still looking for a reference to a SWAT team in the linked story.
Am I missing something here? I didn't read the Post story TPM linked to because I assumed it was the same crap WaPo always runs.
On that note, I love the SF SWAT guys (and gals). Best in the nation!
