Excellent! I mean, has a real Dem ever done an ad like that for the Rethugs' candidate? (We don't count DINOs...)
  • jixter · 1 year ago
Yeah, the ad is "ok", I guess, but not the strongest I've ever seen. It's real problem is with the wimpy-guy voiceover at the end.

They need to hire somebody with a STRONG, MASCULINE, ALPHA voice right away - and use him for all future ads; otherwise, they've undercut their message with a weak trail-off and wasted everybody's money to boot.

Why does something like this have to said? Why didn't they know this to begin with? Talk about self-sabotage!

    Good Job!

Not the one I would have picked, but it's still pretty good.

(at least it wasn't the one where they spelled out his name)

I can't imagine a worse ad. To whom is it supposed to appeal? Republicans will dismiss it as Democratic propoganda. Democrats will be appalled at the thought of electing a President that Republicans would find acceptable. And that guy! Fat, ugly, bald. It hurts to even look at him. There is nothing in the ad that tells us anything about Obama. It's completely terrible!

    I can't imagine a worse ad.

    I can:

    spell change

Here are the ones that should have won:

    Vote Hope
    Imagine

And I still like this one, though it's a bit too presumptuous:

    Obama 2012
  • hartporter · 1 year ago
Agreed; those are much better. Well, this is what happens when you put things like this up for a vote.

Here's something for my fellow Obama supporters:

Call me crazy, but this ad shouldn't have seen the light of day. Life long Republican who screwed up twice by voting for Bush. I don't care who he votes for.
  • vwcat · 1 year ago
This needs to be shown on network and cable and let all the non believers see that this vet and republican is backing Obama. This is especially powerful against John McCain
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
I know the "right" would like everyone to think they are the only soldiers fighting in Bush's wars but there are many non-republicans who will get their chance to make their voice heard through the ballot box. I think most military personel recognize Bush does not and never will have leadership qualities and no sense for military matters. He has all but destroyed our Armed Forces with his "oil wars" desguised as 9/11 retribution and further, knowing that McCain wants to continue this madness is enough for everyone to see the need to change the course of this country from eventual disaster to a road to peace.

It is my wish that this administration will eventually be brought up on charges for deliberately misleading this country into war, for starters. If not, perhaps a world court will do what our spineless Congress seems unable to do.

It is very good. I read somewhere that 45% of Republicans who voted in the Democratic primary in Indiana voted for Obama. These people are going to stick with us in the fall because they are upset with the way the Republican Party has gone. We are going to have a coalition of Democrats, independents, Republicans and a whole new generation of voters.

kudos to David Gaw and Lance Mungia on the vid

My bush voting dad wants Obama. He is scared of McCain. The repubs need to wrap their head around how pissed people are.
