If you ask yourself, is it too good to be true, it is probably going to benefit the wealthy.

    OT:

Log Cabin Repubs out McCain's Chief of Staff in retaliation for Palin pick.

    I want gold.
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
    I want beer.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Well, I want beer too but I've been sober for 5 years and 11 days... and counting. Not gonna do it!

Recovering drug addict / alcoholic here. ;)
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
Hats off to you and taking control of your life.

Never drugs here, even prescription, but I probably would be better physically and mentally without beer and wine.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I would drink, but for me I can't drink without then wanting to drugs so I can't do either. I'm glad I finally came to that life saving conclusion with the help of Narcotics Anonymous five years eleven days ago, or I would be six feet under today.
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
    Congratulations. Keep it up.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I'm not going to stop. Its a daily reprieve.

By the way, though I line in Austin, Texas, I am originally from Oklahoma. Folks retitred to Durant around where they grew up and where I spent my first few years.

If you could eliminate fundie influence and Jim Inhofe Oklahoma is a great state.

Me and my girlfriend will be taking our annual early fall drive down the the Talimena parkway soon.

A lesbian friend of mine has a cabin there. Sometimes I go and stay with her during Autumn to enjoy the leaves changing. One of the most beautiful places in the nation at that time, IMHO.
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
I agree. I love that no one lives there but those wanting to get away or stay away. Recently there for Choctaw festival in Tuskahoma. Very redneck, but gorgeous and genuine folks. With all that said I will not mention it anymore for fear that others come to find out and start putting up condos.

Rephrase, gorgeous countryside and genuine folks.

Obama needs to do an ad for veterans who have been hoodwinked:

  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
McShame is approved by the type of "Veteran" that critized the guys coming back from Vietnam calling them losers. Check out the VFW it is full of some really Toxic "Vets"
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
True. I'm a member of the VFW and they are full of a bunch of Republican gas bags who profit handsomely in private while screwing the poor, middle class veteran. Then there is the VFW vet who is a lemming and just ignorant and follows the herd.

I joined thinking if enough of us younger guys got involved maybe we would change it, but its going to take years...

look at this article from two years ago on salaries at Goldman Sachs...unbelievable...

Let the voters speak in November before deciding on the bailout plan. It is too important and the taxpayers do not want the hand of BushCo to control government after he is finished.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
Goldmine Sachs...and Henry Paulson is the former CEO...
i heard that Goldman Sachs was big into uber speculation in the oil industry too, causing oil prices to spike...he's got all the bases covered...

Think about if the current plan is passed without revision the Treasury Secretary could make company A tax a dime for an asset woth a dollar and likewise pay Company B a doolar for an asset woth a dime, all without any review or court intervention.

Small bank and enemies will be decimated (Company A in the scenario) at the hands of an unelected official and Goldman (Company B in the scenario) will own the world thanks to the trillions provided by the US taxpayers after being in the brink of collapse a few days ago.
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
    make Company A take
  • Wild_Weasel · 1 year ago
    NO taxpayer bailout dollars UNTIL

the corporate CEOs and other crooks in Wall Street and the real estate business chain are FORCED to give up some of their ill gotten gains (yachts, mansions, vacation homes, corporate jets, etc.).

Simply eliminating golden parachutes going forward will not cut it.

    - Take back the yachts
    - Take back the airplanes.
    - Take back the mansions
    - Surrender the monies they've stashed in Swiss Banks (the same Swiss Banks that American taxpayers are now being asked by Paulson to bail out).

I have solved the CEO'S and GOP crooks money problems on Wall Street! I received an entry form for Publisher's clearing house in the mail today, I will gladly sacrafice my entry and send to wall street, if you win, great! If not then you will know how much faith the Taxpayers have in this administration or Wall street to clean up this mess, about as much faith as I have that I or they will win the PCH grand prize!
