AMERICAblog: Yepsen blasts Palin and McCain

  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
"That's great but Americans are looking for someone to handle Wall Street and Iraq, not Bristol and Track."

    That line is great!
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
Even more to the point, she failed with both Bristol and Track. Then again, you can take that as her real talent lies in dealing with Wall Street, Iraq, Pakistan, Syria, and Russia.

"Syria's near India, right?" - Sarah Palin
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
he failed to finish the thought...

"And its obvious that she isn't all that competent at that either. "
  • Ken Clark · 1 year ago
I'm still convinced she named the kids after where they were conceived.

    Bristol - at Bristol Bay
Trig - In the high school trig classroom (I'm sure it was empty at the time)
Track - on the track at the football stadium (may or may not have been empty at the time)
Willow - either under a willow tree or while watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer
    Piper - Any guesses?

I believe Bristol was actually named after the headquarters of ESPN.

(90 minute) Meeteen with Henry Kiss-in-jer:

You'll give me more insight into Georgia? That's so great, Mr. Kiss-in-jer! And I would be so privileged to know about how you waged an extra war in Cam-bow-dee-ah and Louse! What do you do when takeen on godless evildoers? Are you prayeen when you do? Are you one of my friends, the Jews for Jesus? You're not? But you have respect for Jesus! Thank you so much. I am haveen the confidence to be there for all of this great country's great challenges...

That would be really funny - if it wasn't true.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
sadly, you know aren't far off the mark with a literal translation.

God I hope we have enough of a dem turnout to throw these idiots out of office and send little miss mooselini back to the toothless hell hole of Wasilla.

Failin/McSHAME are running on her "appeal" and his anti-pork platform. As said in the article, aren't the Repugs the party that is trying to put "Lipstick on Pork", or more technically, "LIPSTCK on A PIG" Platform?

They made the platform, they get to keep it's Name!

I laughed at that as well... a de Rothschild (and "Lady" at that) calling Obama elitist??

    LOL!!!

right... who's next? a Vanderbilt? Rockefeller? DuPont?

    puleeeze.
  • davidkc · 1 year ago
Ouch. I'm glad he's calling out de Rothschild's ridiculous comment. But I'm sure the McCain camp will just dismiss Yepsen as another in their growing, growing list of sexists.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
no no... sexist isn't working anymore.

as a reporter, he's just "in the tank"... meaning, part of the Obama camp.

that's their new catchphrase for anyone who asks them actual questions, or reports on their many gaffes... they're in the tank.
  • davidkc · 1 year ago
Ahhh, thanks for the update. I didn't get the latest memo.

"A British government minister attacked Republican US vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin as "horrendous" at the Labour Party conference on Saturday.
The outburst from Communities Secretary Hazel Blears threatens to undermine Prime Minister Gordon Brown's determination for the British government to maintain a neutral position in the US presidential election.

Speaking at a fringe meeting of the centre-left party during its annual party conference in Manchester, Blears said Palin was capitalising on people's disillusionment with regular politics.

"I just think there is so much anti-politics -- not just in this country but around the world," Blears said."

If she's going to handle Wall Street like she handled Bristol then we are well and truly f**ked.
  • OneManComotion · 1 year ago
Miss de Rothchild is most likely a person that married into true upper upper. The Upper that is trying to solve the problems we now have. She is most likey an upstart from questionable backround...given her unbelievable switch in politics.

These people often marry into money and gain power...for a time, until they show themselves as having absolutely no class, no belief system, etc.

This women really needs to fade away.

Iwoans are not fooled by Palin. Not one bit. Obama leads by a sizable margin there.
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
You guys need to go slap some sense into Minnesota then.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Yeah!

WTF's going on up there anyway?
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
Whoops. Too late to edit. Sorry Mark IN FLORIDA. Nevermind.

But the Iowans do still need to go up there and whoop some ass.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Yepsen's pretty sharp.

And the fact that he writes from outside the beltway makes him even more impressive.

Kind of a political wise man of the plains.
  • nsr · 1 year ago
Is being attacked as an elitist by a de Rothschild more like the pot calling the kettle black, or putting lipstick on a pig? Huh? Actually it's neither. Obama's not an elitist, so she's not accusing him of something they have in common. And "lipstick on a pig" doesn't even make sense-- she's making him appear more glamorous than he is? I think Yepson's just trying to look cool by tossing around smart-alecky cliches. Is she throwing Obama under the bus, or being politically correct? Does this remark bring home the bacon or is it merely robust? Was Yepson three sheets to the wind or more confused than a nine-peckered billy goat?

    ...fighting back:

can someone - hopefully far more talented than me - do a play off the "original mavericks" slogan, maybe for youtube?
could have mccain / palin as the "original mavericks", and bush / cheney as the "original pintos".
one's just a copy of the other...
