AMERICAblog: Zimbabwe opposition pulls out of election

But Exxon, Shell, BP, and the other oil companies have no interests here, so we'll not be going after this dictator like we did Saddam. (On another topic: Do you think Cheney understood the opportunity in Iraq in 2000 when he installed himself as the VP candidate? Hmmm... left Halliburton, and then gave Halliburton all of these no-bid contracts... the oil companies and Halliburton will be VERY grateful to Cheney once he's out of office.)

I think he has a lot of Hillburton stock anyway.

So, yes, he's already been rewarded very handsomely.

Nobody gives a shit anymore. Selfishness and the "good life" for some, nothing for the common good.

    Greed is good, you know.

Mugabe can thank the Chinese for their guns and Dubya for setting an example by saying and doing nothing while Zimbabweans died, great leader that he is; having made "regime change" impossible even when it is really needed. Time for regime change here in America. This November, destroy the Republican Party, once & for all.

Meanwhile on CNN: good job, John! Talk slower is all, no body outside the gay community listens that fast.

Those boomer fundie and wingnut bush supporters must atone and the boomer generation needs to let go of all the wars. They need to stop white-knucking the direction of things. Enough of that. It's changing...

Uh, we appreciate the input and all the work before but you need to stop white-knucking the steering wheel. Things are fucked up enough as it is. It's going to be alright, though...

Saw C-span this morning and another mouthpiece from the Heritage foundation was dumping on Mugabe who is a killer and the worst kind of dictator. He praised Rice for asking the UN to intervene. Isn't it convenient that they go to the UN to go after this ass blanket yet they went alone to Iraq and Afghanistan. Of course Zimbabwe has no untapped resources to exploit. Iraq has the oil and Afghanistan the way for a pipeline from Ubekistan. Why didn;t Bush want to help democracy in Zimbabwe? We all know the answer.
When these right wing think tanks see something they can rape they are all for US intervention. Funny we still provide over $200 million in trade grants to the government. No wonder Mugabe can go on his fabulous shopping trips to Paris and Rome.

"you're the man!"-Thabo Mbeki to Robert Mugabe

What could be expected with that madman Mugabe having the opposition slaughtered. When have we ever seen a dictator like Mugabe, and believe me he is one of the worst, step down or accept defeat with dignity. He is a monster hated by everyone but he will probably celebrate his "victory". And to think we thought Sadaam was the worst. They are all alike and like serpents have to be crushed.

Not the regional leaders generally, just Mbeki. Most of the rest of them have either been trying, or doing nothing, but Mbeki has had Mugabe's dick in his mouth for nearly a decade, and because South Africa is the colossus of the region, it means that the other nations can't do much.
When Jacob Zuma takes as South African President, it will be a good thing.
